Hello friends!
Do I dare say we are halfway through the One Room Challenge? That statement is enough to send me into panic mode!!
If you’ve been following along on my blog for awhile (and on Instagram), you’ll know that we’re not living in our home right now. Just a little recap, back in August we had major water damage to all 3 floors of our house. We’ve been living in a rental home ever since and somehow I got the courage up to tackle another One Room Challenge. In the middle of some major house construction. Call me crazy, maybe, but I think it’s the exact distraction I’ve needed during this crazy time!
It feels like I’ve hardly done a thing in this ORC but what I am patiently waiting for the drywallers to finish up in our home and then we can get in hang some of these frames and work on the board and batten! Hopefully, I’ll have more to show you next week!
First let me tell you about a tool that’s saved my DIY life! Back in August I received my Home Right spray shelter and sprayer and used it for our Front Door Makeover. To say I was amazed with this product is an understatement. We’ve used a different brand of paint sprayer before but never again! We found that this sprayer sprayed so effortlessly, the coverage was even and you hardly use any paint at all!
I’ve been dreaming of a staircase gallery wall for quite some time and have been collecting picture frames forever! Whenever I stop at a garage sale or thrift store, I’m drawn to picture frames. Here’s some of the frames I have collected this summer to add to our gallery wall.
The biggest reason my HomeRight spray shelter has been my lifesaver this time around is because where do you paint when you currently don’t have a garage and the Canadian temperatures have dropped to below freezing?? All I can say is, thank goodness for this shelter! I popped it up in the basement, laid down some plastic just to make extra sure I’m protecting the carpet, opened the window and painted away! Seriously, friends it was a breeze to paint these frames!
Like I’ve said before, we’re trying to make the very best of our situation and while tackling some DIY projects hasn’t been as easy and convenient like they’d be in our real house, this shelter has made it all possible! I would’ve never ever thought about spray painting inside before…
But look how easy-peasy this was… no mess to clean up either!
Here’s just a few of the frames I’ll be using! On my agenda this weekend is printing some pictures for all of these… looking forward to choosing some of favorite family pictures!
I’m thinking of leaving all the frames white and maybe distressing a few of them, but after seeing this gorgeous gallery wall Capturing Joy by Kristen Duke shared, I’m wondering about a few accent frames with color!
Isn’t it beautiful? Such a beautiful combination of gorgeous frames, white railings and dark flooring!
Now enjoy the rest of your week friends, while I get busy cross off a couple of things on my list this weekend…
A huge thankyou to HomeRight for their amazing tools that make DIYing so much easier and help projects run more smoothly!
