Whitewashed Country Chic Paint Project

 Hello friends!

It’s one of my favorite times of the month… time for our Monthly DIY! For almost a year now, some of my fabulous bloggy friends and I take part in a monthly challenge. Some months we all start with the same crafting “thingy” and see what we all come up with and like this month, we left it more open and just showcase what you can do with paint. Seriously, it’s got to be one of the handiest things ever. I love spray paint and I think it can give just about anything a facelift!

At the bottom of this post, you’ll find all the links to my friends’ fabulous projects! Be sure to check them out!

This month started out with holidays. We spend a wonderfully refreshing week In Montana. It was hot and dry the entire week and what a perfect way to start out summer holidays. That being said, I won’t be sharing a new furniture makeover like I wanted to. I still have to finish it up and will share it later on.

I shared this coffee table with you a few months ago, but never wrote the tutorial for it. And since I totally loved the Country Chic Paint that I used, I wanted to share what products I used and tell you all about it!

But first things first… I have to confess. Major blogger fail. I am totally lacking pictures for this project. Can I just say I’ve totally learned from this post and now have my phone sitting by my side at.all.times.

My husband build this coffee table using pine. If you want to see the plans we used for it, check back to this post. When Country Chic Paints gave me the opportunity to try their paint, I have to admit, I could not decide on a color. They have so many gorgeous colors but I finally decided on Elegance and Simplicity. Here’s a little peak at some of their colors but for a complete selection of stunning colors, click here.

If you’re not familiar with Country Chic Paint it is a chalk and mineral based paint. One of the things that impressed me the most, is that it’s VOC free and pretty much odorless. It dries super quick and applied beautifully to our wood! I only recommend products to my readers that I truly love, and Country Chic Paint is definitely one of them!

I decided to go with a two toned look for our coffee table. I’ve often mentioned how I love neutral colors and am always drawn to them, but for this piece that little voice in my head kept begging me to pick COLOR! I’m so glad I did! We painted the top of the coffee table Simplicity. After letting it dry completely we gave it a coat of Elegance. Immediately after applying Elegance, we used a rag to wipe it off. This gives it a white washed look.

We used the same method for the drawers, except opposite colors. I painted them Elegance and let dry completely. Next, I gave it a coat of Simplicity and wiped it off. The rest of the coffee table got two coats of Elegance.

Thanks for coming by today and have a wonderful day!

I’ve totally been wanting to try Country Chic on our farm house coffee table. I really like the tone you achieved on this piece. And I’m still endlessly jealous that your whole table is a DIY – it’s amazing 🙂

I love the fact that the paint is VOC free and odorless and it’s always a bonus if it dries quickly. Sounds like a winner! I can’t believe how many colors there are to choose from too! I’ll have to check it out! 🙂

    Hi Kendra!
Your table turned out beautiful! So glad you shared more detail about it and thanks for the paint suggestion. I haven’t tackled any painting furniture productions, so I appreciate that. Your husband did such a great job at building it. Thanks for partying with us at Talented Tuesday!
    Cheers,
