Happy Tuesday Friends!
Today, I’d love to share my new favorite dessert with y’all! If you love bread puddings, I know you’ll love this one! Quite often when we’re having company my husband will try a brand new recipe. However, I’m never nervous as he’s a fabulous baker and his desserts always wow me! This was no exception…
Now that fall is here and winter is quickly approaching, we crave comfort foods like chilli, casseroles and hearty main dishes. And a dessert like this is the perfect compliment to a meal like that. The smell of toffee and cinnamon will have your taste buds dancing in anticipation!
- 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon Skor toffee bits
- 3 cups milk
- 4 eggs
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 8 cups 1/2 inch cubed French bread
- 1 1/2 cups Skor toffee bits
- 2/3 cup whipping cream
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- Heat oven to 350F. Grease 13X9 inch baking pan.
- Mix together milk, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla and salt in a large bowl with wire whisk. Stir in bread cubes, coating completely. Allow to stand for 10 minutes. Stir in toffee bits. Pour into prepared pan.
- Bake 50-55 minutes or until surface is set. Cool 30 minutes.
- Combine toffee bits, whipping cream and cinnamon in medium saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until toffee melts and mixture is well blended.
- This dessert is best eaten the day it is prepared.
Thanks as always, for stopping by and hope your day is lovely!
Happy baking!
-Kendra
