Hello Everyone!
Who else is having a hard time believing it’s the last day of March!? Time flies when you’re having fun… or when you’re super busy!
Is your home looking springy yet? I don’ t decorate for Spring/Easter a ton but I have done a few little things like my Spring Vignette for my new coffee table my husband built. And then I also made some Spring centerpieces! And now these…
As always, all opinions are my very own and I only recommend products I use myself. See my full disclosure here
I’ve been seeing pretty eggs all over Pinterest and am loving how they bring a natural feel inside! They were very easy to make!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 package styrofoam eggs
- 1 Craft Smart Robin Egg Blue paint
- 1 Craft Smart Chocolate Brown paint
- thin paint brush
- straw
- toothpicks
The first step was painting the eggs Robin Egg Blue (you can use any color or even an assortment of colors but I love the color of a robin’s eggs and thought I’d like mine to look as real as possible!) Allow them to dry; this won’t take long at all. I then wanted to give the eggs a speckled look and used a couple different methods to achieve this. I used my paint brush to “flick” paint at the egg… this is a bit tricky as sometimes it went on in streaks. Practice first on scrap paper. I also used a straw to “flick” the paint and it worked well too. I also used a toothpick and after dabbing it in paint, I dabbed it on the egg, giving it more speckles. Allow time to dry and you’re done!

Cute project! I’m in the middle of a similar one, but am attempting to spray paint plastic Easter eggs…been kind of a disaster so far. I may have to give up and go for styrofoam! Pinning just in case!!!
Thanks Shara! Good luck with yours! I never thought about which would be easier to paint when I chose the styrofoam ones 😉 Thanks so much for coming by!
