It feels so good to be back!
Last fall, after much thought and (much, much more thinking) I decided to take a little break from my blog. I missed creating, connecting with all of you, and all the wonderful relationships I’ve made through blogging, but it was exactly what I needed. However, there’s no time like jumping in head first and joining my 4th One Room Challenge!!
For those of you that aren’t familiar with the ORC, you’re probably wondering what it is! Over a 6 week period (technically only 5 weeks, though!) we pick a room in our home and give it a makeover. For myself, it’s a great way to stay on schedule, even though there’s many times I wonder why on earth I do this to myself! Usually there’s many late nights, a million runs to Home Depot and tons of sweat poured into these makeovers! Each week, we show you our progress and how far we’ve come or haven’t come!
If you’d like, here are the links to our previous three: Master Bedroom, Laundry Room and Bathroom. This time around, we’re taking on our daughter’s bedroom!
Our Bedroom Makeover
Our Bathroom Makeover
Laundry Room Makeover
I’ll show you what we’re starting out with….
The purple and pink has got to go…. and those wall stickers!
I always find it hard to share some of these pictures, but there’s nothing like keeping it real!! This picture shows our daughter’s closet to the left and the bedroom entrance on the right. When we bought our home it had all oak trim and we’ve slowly gotten rid of it all. Excited to get a lot of white and bright into this room!
Are you ready to see the big change that I’m hoping to make in this room?? Here it is….
Floral. Light. Plaid. Pretty. A little bit of glam. I am so.darn.excited.friends!!!
Whenever we do a One Room Challenge, I love making a list of what we’d like to get done. Actually, who am I kidding? I’m a list maker with anything… even stuff I want to get done on a weekend! It seems to hold me accountable and who doesn’t love scratching of something they’ve accomplished!? So here’s what we’re looking to get done over the next 6 weeks:
1. Paint walls. Goodbye purple and pink!
2. Change light fixture.
3. New bed…. whether we diy her current one or get a new one altogether.
4. New nightstand.
5. Gallery wall.
6. Large area rug.
7. Paint trim.
8. Organize and declutter 🙂
So there we have it, friends! It’s in writing and it’s published so no going back now! I’m excited to transform our little girl’s room from her purple and pink toddler days to something that’s more her personality and style! I’d love for you to follow along!
Thanks so much for stopping by friend! Wishing you a wonderful Thursday!

Welcome back! 🙂 I need to do one of these one room challenges sometime. I just made over my daughters room last year (took me several months, not one! lol).
