Today I’m excited to be part of a group of fabulously talented ladies to show you some Mother’s Day Tablescape ideas. Be sure to check out all the other beautiful tablescapes at the end of my post… so many gorgeous ideas!
Do you have any plans for Mother’s Day yet? It seems like the older I get, I just want a day at home spent with my loved ones. Nothing fancy and crazy expensive.
Personally, I think eating on out holidays is overrated. ๐ I’d rather avoid the busy and (and often loud) restraunts and enjoy a meal at home. As a family, we love making our favorite meals at home and setting a beautiful table can be so easy! I’ll show you how I created a Mother’s Day inspired tablesape outdoors!
Even if creating a tablescape isn’t something you do very often, I want to encourage you to give it a try! It’s really not as difficult as it may seem! I’ll show you in 5 simple steps!
- You first need to choose a base. I love picnics on a blanket but to dress it up a little bit, I decided to use some pallets to give it that rustic style I adore. There’s so many places that have them sitting outside for free pickup and thought they’d make a unique setting!
- Next, instead of using a tablecloth I used a piece of lace because I wanted to keep the rustic look of the wood mainly visible. I placed the lace down the center and I think it gives it such a pretty feminine touch! Instead of buying new, check yardsales or thrift stores for pieces of lace.
- Next choose a tray to use as your centerpiece. I used a couple of different ones just to give you an idea. The ivory one an be found at Ikea and the tobacco basket is one of my favorite dรฉcor items ever! You can get your own here.
- I then added some of my favorite Ikea greenery in the trays and added a couple vases of carnations. You can use any flowers that are in season from your local grocery store or if you have some blooming in your yard already, that’s even better! These carnations have lasted over four weeks and still look so pretty! I love their soft pink color! I also added a couple of candles on the sides because I think candles are the perfect touch to any decor! I recently bought these battery operated flameless ones and absolutely love them. You can find some similar to mine here.
- Lastly, I added some of my favorite cloth napkins and our everyday dinnerware dishes. The glasses are a new purchase this spring and I think they add the perfect touch of color.
Of course, with Mother’s Day around the corner, there’s always the question of the perfect gift to get Mom! There’s nothing I treasure more than my children’s homemade gifts and cards but of course, their daddy is a pretty amazing guy who always goes shopping with them and buys me a couple thoughtful gifts. I thought I’d share 5 of these ideas as well.
Fossil 3-Hand Watch | Saje Pocket Farmacy Oil Blend Set | Essential Oil Diffuser Bracelet | White Birkenstock Sandals | Together Sign
- I’m picky when it comes to watches but I think this pretty Fossil watch is one of my absolute favorites!
- I absolutely love the Saje Pocket Farmacy and it is with me wherever I go! The Peppermint Halo oil is an essential for headaches and is my life saver!
- If you wear jewlery, you’ll love this pretty bracelet to diffuse your oils and have them with you throughout the day!
- Birkenstocks. Enough said. My go-to favorite sandals all summer long. They might be a few dollars more than those cheap flip flops, but trust me, your feet will thank you!
- I love this pretty farmhouse sign and it totally speaks about my love for my family!
Now enjoy checking out the rest of the pretty tablescapes, friends!

I totally love this idea and think your tablescape is beautiful. But… if I were to ask my mom or me for that matter to sit on the ground, we’d never be able to get back up! LOL Oh to be young and limber again. ๐
Thanks so much, Cindy! And I totally agree with sitting on the ground… two pallets stacked up is actually a nice height and chairs would work great! (We tried it!) Thanks so much for stopping by! xo
